Gas fees are small costs paid to process transactions on the blockchain.
**Good News: Base Has Very Low Fees**
- Typical transaction: $0.01 - $0.05
- Much cheaper than Ethereum mainnet
- Fees paid in ETH (keep a small amount in your wallet)
**Why Gas Fees Exist:**
- Pay network validators for processing
- Prevent spam transactions
- Secure the network
**Tips to Save on Gas:**
- Certifium uses Coinbase Paymaster for many transactions (free gas!)
- Batch operations when possible
- Gas prices are generally stable on Base
Gasless Transactions: Many Certifium transactions are gasless thanks to our Coinbase Paymaster integration. Look for the "Gasless" badge on supported actions.
